Today was the Best Day Ever at TLPTC! I usually write about one of my special guys or one of our awesome volunteers, but today I’ve been thinking about our favorite four legged shopper. His name is Rowdy Dog and if you don’t know him, check our photos and you will see him everywhere. I guess he’s our mascot.
His dad thinks he’s a little Rowdy (obviously), but I choose to think he’s just happy about life and happy about this day and he wants to share his joy with all of us. Tails always wagging ~ Face is always smiling ~ Ears are always listening.
Wish we could all be more like Rowdy Dog. Instead, we often are wagging our tongues about others and our ears aren’t listening to what’s important. And sometimes giving out a smile is harder than pulling a tooth. We miss so much potential joy by withholding the gift of accepting others right where they are.
If we met everyone with the expectation that something good was going to happen from that encounter, how peaceful would the world be? Rowdy doesn’t know if this guy is homeless or if this lady has an addiction – he just knows that every person is an opportunity for affection. And, at the end of the day, isn’t that what we all need? Isn’t that all that really matters? Acceptance, Understanding, Kindness. Pretty easy stuff to give. At least that’s what Rowdy Dog thinks. And, I think the pups got it figured out.
